8 room brick house built by Dr. Barratt for his oldes son, John, on property of the Barratt home, which was called "Chinquapin Ridge." After the death of Dr. and Mrs. Barratt, John moved back to the old home until he joined the Confederate army. He was killed at the Battle of Mannassas, his body never found.
